Nellie Deutsch

My name is Nellie (Muller) Deutsch. My formal educational background is varied but my informal studies are even more so. I have a BA in English literature and linguistics, an MA in education specializing in curriculum and technology, and am currently completing a doctoral program in educational leadership specializing in curriculum and instruction at the University of Phoenix online. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 30 years and integrating technology into the ESL/EFL classroom since the 1990s. I have been involved in international collaborative projects and WebQuests via Moodle for the past 5 years. My first website, Nellie's English Projects was an experiment that evolved from a WebQuest and started me off as a webmistress in the days of html before web 2.0 tools. I facilitate online (Blended and full) and face-to-face workshops on how to use Wikieducator as a collaborative tool to improve instruction and learning and conduct online workshops and conferences. I also moderate live online workshops for Electronic Village Online which is a project of TESOL's CALL Interest Section, storytelling and cultures, and integration of technology and web 2.0 tools into the classroom on WiZiQ.

I am passionate about learning and am currently completing my doctoral studies in educational leadership specializing in curriculum, and instruction online at the University of Phoenix and writing my dissertation. I am researching blended learning and instructor use of technology in higher education. In my spare time, I mentor educators on how to integrate web 2.0 tools for instruction and learning. I would like to see e-learning available and free worldwide.

I am interested in collaborative and engaged learning, social networking, philosophy, mindfulness meditation practice, the Alexander Technique, art, writing and poetry. I am looking forward to collaborating with other educators on the best ways to integrate technological tools in order to facilitate and improve instruction and learning.

Please feel free to contact me by email

Gita Mathur

My name is Dr. Gita Mathur. I am Associate Professor of Botany at Gargi College, University of Delhi, India.I have been a Botany teacher for more than 25 years.
I am a trained Botanist, but over time my interests have diversified to issues related to environment, science education and innovations in teaching methodologies.
I strongly believe in free access to educational content and in collaborative learning not only among peers but also between a student and a teacher.
Besides my academic responsibilities, I spend a lot of time working on innovations in teaching Botany including designing experiments which can be done with minimum facilities.
I am very fond of photography, especially close-ups of plants and flowers. I like colours and understand their role in production of visuals for teaching. The importance of good photographs, diagrams and images in teaching is what I work towards.

  • Paul, As I mentioned on the message you added to the feedback page, you need to be in edit mode. You will only see the "edit" mode if you are logged in. Let me know if this helps. Thank you. --Nellie Deutsch 21:19, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Prince M. Obiri-Mainoo

Hello Everyone,

My name is Prince M. Obiri-Mainoo. I have a B.A in Political Science and History from the University of Ghana and a Masters degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

I have been an Instructional Technology teacher in K-12 schools and a computer literacy instructor for adults in the Worcester County in the U.S. for several years.

I am originally from Ghana but I now live in the United States. My goal is to help immigrants, especially the recent ones who are transitioning into a new way of life in the United States and also those in mainland Africa benefit from the many opportunities the country offers to both old and young especially in education, health and business.

I therefore see myself as a "continental bridge" over the Atlantic whereby teachers and students on each side of the ocean could collaborate with each other through the power of the Internet and emerging technologies. This is why I am passionate about learning all that WikiEducator has to offer towards the realization of my goal.

As the Founder and Executive Director of National Africa Foundation and also a training administrator of the Pentecost Leadership Training Institute, I plan to use these as learning platforms to all who would want to learn and benefit from WikiEducator and OERs.

  • Hello, Prince. Nice to know we share common online learning environments like SCoPE and WiZiQ.--Nellie Deutsch 03:59, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Hi Nellie, yes I see you a lot on SCoPE and of late on WiZiQ too. Thanks for your passion and your leadership. Hopefully, we would meet on some more fora in the coming weeks and months! Prince!!

Myself Amanpreet Kaur. I'm doin BSC.(HONS) in zoology from Gargi College, Delhi University. And i'm lovin it :-) Whats better than to be in touch with GOD's ultimate creation.... "NATURE". The reason why i took the subject is that i'm keen to know about living organisms, animals, about human beings.... how their body works so perfectly that they still rule all the machines invented till date.
I joined wikieducator so that i could be in contact with some highly educated and guiding people who would make my range of vision more wider... n my mind more wiser.
i would like to thank the creators for giving us this opportunity :-) and i m looking forward to get soooo many of my doubts cleared on wikieducator.
