I added a section on mobile development (the one that was in my sandbox with some edits), but put it in the "Create" section rather than "Localize." To me, these are development issues that can be more easily dealt with upfront rather than as a localization, which is why I put it in Create.
I'm not sure how this info fits into the section currently in "Localize." They could be merged, I suppose. I'll leave that up to you.
One thing, for what it's worth, is that many may find the terminology "third world" to be derogatory. "Developing world" or "developing countries" is preferred.
I also added a short intro to the Create section of the handbook. The other sections seemed to have it, but it was missing from this one. It was also a good place to make the point that everything on the Internet is not automatically "sharable" as many educators assume.

Thank you for adding those sections. I was aware that some find the term "third world" derogatory. I'm actually surprised you at myself for using it, because I tend to use "developing nations" in speech. By all means, if you find any other references to "third world" change it to something more appropriate.

I've added in a couple user stories and also got the word out to a bunch of others who I know use OER. hopefully, you'll see more stories being added soon.
I want to edit the mobile section a little more but will post early next week.

Thanks for your hard work! I can see you've been busy with quite a few edits.

The second half of user story #1 is exactly the kind of I'm looking for. The first half isn't bad, but I've included a description of Wikibooks in the open textbooks subsection of the Get OER section. Additional details about how the animal alphabet was created would be great for the Create OER section as well. In fact, it would be great if some of these user stories carried throughout the handbook.
There are two purposes behind this:
- Demonstrate that OER isn't just theoretical, but has practical use.
- Give educators their own ideas for OER creation and use.
For second reason, User Story #2 isn't quite what I'm looking for (it's OER to demonstrate the usefulness of OER).

The more practical, the better. I envision the stories having a personal tone; one educator talking to another. The format doesn't have to be too long, just a paragraph or two.

Somewhat. In recent days I've added a few more external links. The hope is to create a print version of the handbook during the summer so it can be distributed at conferences, such as the OpenEd Conference 2008. Also, I want the OER handbook to stand on its own as much as possible, so educators don't feel that they're put on a web quest just to learn about OER.
However, there's a lot of great information available at websites with incompatible licenses. If you know of external links that would be helpful, feel free to add them in. For the print version, we'll simply display the URL.

Very good point about not wanting this to seem like a "web quest." And I'm glad you're going to distribute this in print as well. Thanks for the feedback on the user stories. I'll revise and write some more and you can take another look.
Ok, I've worked more on these. Take a look at "Interactive Ebooks to Identify Cause and Effect" and the revision of "Animal Alphabet Remixes". If they look ok, I'll add them in. I will also send messages to some friends of mine who should be able to add some more stories.

Both stories look good. Feel free to add when you are ready. I also appreciate you contacting others about contributing their stories.
I also read your rewrite of the mobile section. It looks good as well, let me know when you integrate it.
