Priti Shetty, (B.com graduate, Digital Marketeer born 9 January 1986) is a Digital Marketer, Teacher, Executive Producer and one of the founder members of Wills on Wheels Foundation . I have a genetic disorder, Spinal cord muscular atrophy commonly known as motor neuron disease, that has reduced my muscle power over the decades. I cannot commute anywhere on my own, making me almost 90% disabled. I now commute using an automatic wheelchair and a modified car.

I was born on 9 January 1986 in Mumbai, India, to Surapal Vasu Shetty (1952-Present Day) and Shalini Surapal Shetty (1960-Present Day) . My mother is a housewife from a small town called Udupi in Karnataka, India and my father is a businessman runs his own restaurant in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. Despite having two kids born with the same problem, both parents made sure to give Education the same importance as basic needs. Theirs was an arranged marriage like every second Indian couple in 80's had. Tied up with family responsibilities & financial constraints they still managed to make me educated enough to earn my own living. I have a younger brother Prasad Shetty ( IRDA, AMFI, NISM CAPITAL MARKET, NISM DERIVATIVES, NSE TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CERTIFIED & CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) from FPSB India.) an Entrepreneur with business name S9 Financial Planners.
Disability
I have a genetic disorder, Spinal cord muscular atrophy commonly known as motor neuron disease, that has reduced my muscle power over the decades.
I had felt increasing stiffness in muscles off lately, including not able to lift the spoon to eat, heavy back pain, muscle fatiguing. The problems has just increased in years since birth ; my family noticed my differences when I tried to climb the stairs or slip and fall even when the floor was not slippery. The diagnosis of this disorder came when I was 18 months old, in 1987. At that time doctors had clearly diagnosed my ailment as incurable - physiotherapy can keep me active.
In the early 1990s, my physical movements started to decline: I began to use wheelchair and had to stop walking. As the disability advanced, I developed a skill to find alternative methods of doing things, like using a hanger or comb to pull things closer to me, started drinking less water to control my urine, using computer at early age of 17 years and avoid using pen. My parents have still not realised that I am trying to be independent; they seem to think of me as lazy and lethargic. I am an independent soul and loath to accept favors; hate being sympathised for my physical challenges.
Education
My schooling was completed from a English medium school named Sou.Laxmibai English Medium School, Mumbai. My mother always gave importance to Education. In spite of objections from extended family members, she made sure I and my brother complete college - graduation. We could complete that with ease because we both were lucky to have such wonderful parents and our school being on ground floor, there was no need to lift us up daily and move upstairs. School staff and principal were very co-operative in all ways.
I completed my higher education in Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com) from V.G.Vaze College (also known as Kelkar).I also did a Certificate Course on International Business from Indira Gandhi National Open university in 2007.
I was an average student, with maths as my weakest link. I realise this curriculum teaching method was the reason that held me back from performing at my best.
My actual journey of learning and teaching myself started in 2004 when I got my first Internet connection. A whole new world of possibilities opened for me.

Social Life
- Founded an NGO named WILLS ON WHEELS FOUNDATION in year 2012 with the help of other founder members. Wills On Wheels Foundation is a non-profit organization run and enabled by people on wheels for people on wheels. The organization is headquartered in Mumbai. We envision to Engage, Educate and Empower differently abled in our society.
- We do regular awareness program and do counselling for the people on wheelchair and their families. We also do social activities on regular basis like celebrating World disability day, participate in Mumbai Marathon, celebrate Women's day with women on wheelchairs and send regular newsletter to our subscribers with latest news and information happening in the disability sector.
- I have started providing basic online digital classes for people on wheelchair and I also do skill training in computers basic to empower them and get a decent home based jobs.
- I have taken semi classical singing training for 5 years and also learnt dubbing for 1 year and luckily got an opportunity to sing a Doordarshan TV serial title track for "Baatein Raaz Ki". I have a passion for the written word Hindi Poems and Short stories.
- Being a Movie buff, I also got an opportunity to be a core member of a Youtube channel called 9TANKI ENTERTAINMENT. I became an executive producer in the team and started looking after the execution part of the movie. We made a short video on 'Teachers Day' with title " What have you learnt today? " which went viral.

- Education is the only medium to change the norms of the societies' thinking pattern.
- Only education can bring the world together and make this place good enough to compete and stay in.
- I have always believed that one's work and practice makes him or breaks him.
- Never hope always believe in what you do or want to do.
