Read Chapter 16.6 in Business Communication for Success.

The key concept in this reading is while conflict is unavoidable, it need not be negative. In fact, conflict often offers opportunities for clarification, personal growth, and strengthening business relationships. This reading also describes effective communication strategies for workplace evaluation, criticism, and conflict negotiation situations.

Recommended: Do the three exercises at the end of the chapter that ask you to reflect on personal conflict experiences. Refer to the conflict management strategies in your text to help you analyze what worked well and what didn’t. What strategies did you use? What strategies did the other person(s) use?
