Discussion notes Technology considerations and requirements - group discussions

  1. Keep in mind sustainability - cost of access to internet (e.g. WiFi) - political will - design courses for low bandwidth
  2. Multiple delivery platforms - design to support delivery though mobile, LMSs, print etc. - OERu network was polled and requested (a) ability to be able to reuse content in the local institutional LMS; (b) ability to have strong version control of content (LMSs not good for this); (c) open source development and collaboration platform (OERu has ability to transform course content from wiki to Wordpress site by means of a snapshot
  3. Access
  4. OER policy
  5. Peer review/quality?
  6. Summative assessments ( in OERu by partner institutions)
  7. Accreditation of courses - by accredited institutions in their respective courses
  8. Measured against learning outcomes
