In the blue rectangle below is an empty multiplication table. Once you click on start you will be asked multiplication questions. Your answers will fill in the table. Explore the Arithmetic simulation (below) for several minutes: Multiplication is indicated by the × Click the start button Enter a number. Where does it go? Observe how the simulation changes. Turn on the clock. When you have finished exploring, try the multichoice question at the bottom of the page. Reflection

One way to think about the multiplication symbol × is that it tells us to group things together. Did you notice any color changes in the simulations? If you did not notice any color changes to the multiplication table, explore the simulation for a couple more minutes. Did your answer boxes in the multichoice question turn green? Great! You are ready for the main Multiplication Workout.
