Chris: actually the "plug" was from Alex .. he just hasn't figured out how to sign his posts yet. Good to see you in here. You know that i'm quite taken with both projects and see them as having quite different but complementary perspectives as well as different strenghts and weaknesses. I think that one of the strenghts of Wikieducator will be it's ability to innovate in the software -- we can try extensions out, see how and if the technology works for an educational wiki environment. Wikiversity's strength will be that it truly stands on the shoulders of a giant and can with it's relationship with Wikibooks/Wikipedia focus less on the content and more on new pedagogical practices for teaching and learning with these tools. Throw in the OERgrapevine project and ... there's something going on around here. I'm going to try my hardest to make it to the Philipines; i tagged along with part of the NZ FLNW when it was in NZ and it was an incredible experience, would be great to see you there too.
