The first set of questions were focused on us:

  • What are some honest, unfiltered things about you? Interested in many different things. Need to be active and challenged.
  • What drives you nuts? People who commit to something then don't follow through. People who claim to be something they aren't.
  • What are your quirks? Do some of my best thinking really early in the morning.
  • How can people earn an extra gold star with you? Any thing that is a pleasant surprise.
  • What qualities do you particularly value in people who work with you? Thoughtful. Open. Generous.
  • What are some things that people might misunderstand about you that you should clarify? I'm making suggestions because I'm trying to help, even if you think it is meddling or being critical of your work.

The next set of questions were more focused on how we interact with others:

  • How do you coach people to do their best work and develop their talents? Ask questions. See if there are some alternatives, connections.
  • What’s the best way to communicate with you? Email, phone, in person. Text works too.
  • What’s the best way to convince you to do something? Facts, reasonable argument. What can it do? (only then - How does it work?}
  • How do you like to give feedback? Discussion.
  • How do you like to get feedback? Verbal.
