Rosh Hshana

Rosh HaShanah is the "Head of the Year" that refers to the celebration of the Jewish New Year. The holiday is on the first day of the Hebrew month.

In the eve of Rosh Hashana, my family and I are going to my grandmother. We say the blessings and talk about what we expecting to the new year. The next day we go to do a barbecue out door. Rosh Hashana is one of my favoret holidays because my family and I spend a lot of time together.

How to do the Bagrut Project

What will the project look like when it is finished?

The project will include ALL of the following elements:

  1. an attractive cover page
  2. a table of contents
  3. an introduction (about a page) which will include, why you chose the topic you chose, and WHAT ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU PLAN TO ANSWER IN THE PAPER
  4. the main body of the project - which will essentially be the answers to the questions presented in the introduction. (3-5 pages - based on at least 4 sources for 5 pointers, and 3 sources for 4 pointers)
  5. Conclusions/Reflection (about ½ - 1 page)
  6. Reflection
  7. Creative part of the project which could be a collage of photos, crossword puzzle, a poem you wrote, a dance you created, musical piece, a made up interview or real survey you conducted or any other creative and original work you developed.
  8. A Bibliography. (a list of the sources you used for your paper)
  9. Appendix with photocopies/printouts of all the sources used for the paper. You must show that you have read the sources, by using highlighting, margin notes, and a list of main points of each source

Students will make a short oral presentation about their projects to the class. (More on this later)

Belief, Indifference, or Denial

I agree with you. Elie shows the form of indifference, in addition to what you said and more. The form of denial was definitely the people of the town, they didn`t want to believe Moishes. And they obviously regret that they didn`t believe him. Your opinion as well describe the form of belife. But On my opinion the form of belief is actually Moishe. He believed thet every one would listen to him.

It`s nice to talk with you. Hope to here from you soon.

Talya Gabso.

Foreshadowing

I think that the best example of foreshadowing is when Moishe the Beadle said that there was a war and no one listened to him. In addition, the example of the lady that kept yelling "Fire" all the time on the train, is a good example of foreshadowing.

In my opinion, these examples are the best for foreshadowing.

Sincerely,

Talya Gabso

Silence

You said: I think that people were silent during the Holocaust, that is why it happened.

I am not sure whom you are referring to. Are you referring to the people in the concentration camps and ghettos or are you referring to countries of Europe, the US and other countries?

I`m looking forward to your answer,

Talya Gabso

Reflections

In the beginning the project wasn't very easy and interesting. Reading a book in a limited time is hard especially because its opening wasn't interesting but later on it got interesting and suspenseful. When my opinion on the book changed the book reading became easier.

The thing I loved the most about this project was talking with the American kids from Mullen High School. I think it improved not only my English but my knowledge about the holocaust also. In addition, I'm sure that the kids that I talked to know a lot better about the holocaust. It makes me happy to know that other people are interested to know more about the holocaust.

Over all doing this project is an experience. To know new people, to read about a book that I would have never thought I would read.
