Professional Background

I have worked as a Software Engineer in the Industry in the United States. I have also worked as an academic in the Otago University in New Zealand.

Education

I have studies in the United States and New Zealand. I have a PhD from the University of Otago in the area of process modeling and simulation.

My Interests

I am interested in modeling distributed systems in the context of collaborative software development and education.

Professional

Currently I am a senior lecturer in the Information Science Department at the University of Otago.

I enjoy reading and walking around the world.

My Projects

I am involved in teaching software engineering and project management courses. In the past I have taught application software development using Java language. From research point of view I am interested in dynamic workflow management system as well as coordination and collaboration of multi-agent systems.

My Reflection

I am interested in collaborative learning. I think WiKis can easily accommodate this type of learning. I also, believe that collaborative learning which encourages diversity and incorporates different perspectives that participants may have creates a more richer form of knowledge. This is evident in Open Software development environment where the final product at times is better than any closed software system.

As a lifelong learner, I would like to promote OER in particular for adult education as well as for developing countries where people may have limited resources.
