Hello! my name is Julia, i am 40 years of age. I am currently employed as a guidance and counseling officer with the Botswana College of Distance and open Learning ( BOCODOL). I am a teacher by profession with 7 years teaching experience. My former employer was the then Ministry of Education, Botswana
ABOUT MY JOB
My core bussiness is basically to offer guidance and counselling ( G&C )support to distance learners.
WHY IS GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING CRUCIAL IN OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL)
Learners in ODL have multiple roles, they are faced with a number of challenges one of them being how to juggle their multiple roles. As a result they need to be grounded on certain skills such as Stress Management, Time Management, anger Management, how to manage conflict etc. Study skills is one of the skills that the learners need most since they come from diverse educational background.

WHY IS ODL THE BEST OPTION
- It promotes independence
