Professional Background
I'm currently researching an education-friendly definition of environmental literacy called essential ecoliteracy, something that might also be called "earth smarts". It is based on what we, as individuals, communities or nations, need to know in order to maintain or improve our quality of life.
Education
- a Masters in Marine Science, studying rockfish (Sebastes spp.) sound production
- a Masters in Arts, focusing on science journalism
- presently a PhD candidate in science education, studying ecoliteracy

I hoping to use the wiki format to gather input on ecoliteracy from all over the world, so I'm interested in its use as a collaborative research tool. In this sense, the Wiki might be considered a knowledge gatherer or discussion facilitator, in addition to its more traditional role disseminating knowledge.
