Hello, my name is Bernardo H.-Márquez. I'm an Applied Linguist working in Mexico. I have worked for several universities in Mexico helping develop their Language Departments. My main areas are in teaching English and Spanish to non-native speakers. I believe that one of the main barriers to the acquisition of information is language itself. An area that requires special attention is Terminology. Many times, a simple expression hides a complex conceptual construct which is not so easily identifiable by a native speaker, much less by a non-native one. I think that including a project that focuses on these issues would benefit the Wiki community, and maybe, it should be considered by WikiEducator. At present, I administer a site intended for Spanish speaking university students (Idiomas por Internet) who'd like to learn English at no cost.
