Future Plans

Jump to: navigation, search

Hi there, I think it's really great that this page about MVP exists, i agree, it needs to be discussed. I'm happy with the content thus far, and just wish to add into the "Future plans" section a need for an open quiz tool. There are numerous free things out there that allow multi choice, yes/no and even matching question types. They also allow putting in images and they generate embed code so we could display in the wiki. But as we all know - free is not open. We'd like something free, open and free of ads! Regards, Sarah

Yes, I agree with Sarah. The benefits of providing immediate feedback, as well as logging reponses, would be very beneficial for developing learning experiences.

Hi Iridium77

While logging of responses is technically doable, we may not be able to implement this during the MVP phase for two reasons:

  1. In the OERu context, all learners should be able to access materials without the need to register a password so tracking could be a challenge where learners not log in.
  2. The issue of tracking learner progress needs to take place after wider discussion and consultation on the ethical questions related to privacy in the OERu context. To date, we have not had these discussions and I suspect this will take a while before we can take a well-informed decision.

Hi Sarah,

We do have quiz widgets for multiple choice and "fill-in-the-blank" type questions. See this example from the OCL4Ed materials.

We need to do a little work on optimising these interactions for the snapshot theme - but we will be able to integrate these types of interactions to support formative assessment.
