On behalf of Athabasca University I would like to create a new test project for the creation of OER/OCW to help train legislative counsel (lawyers who write legislation). This project is being supported by the Commonwealth of Learning.
Can anyone help me to start this project?
I think a lot of members of the community will be willing to help once you get it started. Once you have decided on a meaningful name, just create a page and get started. The page(s) can develop incrementally.
Note that if you have materials in OpenOffice (or Microsoft Word) format, the OOo Converter in the navigation Toolbox can be a good way to kickstart a project. It can get a "rough draft" into the wiki where you (and the community) can refine it.
Dear Team Members ,
I am glad to welcome you to this great platform that will help us develop content for the movement building and community organising curriculum.
The proposed topics for the curriculum include:
1. What are movements ? Why do they exists?
I live in Trinidad in the West Indies, a small developing country with a shortage of trained professionals in many fields. School librarianship is one of the most pressing of these. Our government accessed a loan and implemented a Secondary Education Modernisation Plan which allowed many new schools to be built and all 133 public secondary school libraries now have many new resources, including fully equipped libraries. I like all the other school librarians would like our students to make the best possible use of these... but most of us are a little overwhelmed by the increasing demands- from the massive amounts of data entry involved in building a computerised collection catalogue, to teaching information literacy skills, to dealing with the day to day management of our Library Media Centres. I would love to create a space where not only could we submit lesson plans for Information Literacy. but postings about best practice in the management of school libraries. It is very easy even with email, and telephones and even Twitter, to feel isolated in your library, when you are faced with issue that may seem insurmountable. And almost always, someone else has faced it and worked out something... we need a clearing house for good ideas. Any idea how I could get this started?
Focus will be on examining what content makes up mathematics programs for different age groups. For example (English - Español - Français): Using a 1000 terms as a base, the following terms (or their synonyms) were found in 80% of U. S. textbooks for this grade level (age: 5). Source: k-12math.info

WWW.k-12math.info is the source of information. The website is one I created, developed and made available at no cost to anyone who wants information (regretfully a MySQL file is the only economic way to store the information, Does Wiki have a way of storing coded information.)
New projects could be added to a Category:Incubator for a limited duration or during the initial planning phase. This way new projects would be conveniently locatable for people interested to help with new projects or to help guide the organization of new projects (e.g. WikiNeighbours). A project could be added to Initiatives after the incubator phase.
Only the main page of a project should be added to Category:Incubator and the page should contain a construction plan and a list of the contributors of the project. For a project to be eligible to leave the incubator phase a minimum of three contributors could be required.
