Breaking Bones Video

Hi Declan,

I added an image to the Breaking Bones video in hopes that it would stop the video from saying that it needed to be started. It did this but now has put the image as the thumbnail at the start. Unfortunately, I can't remove it from the timeline because of a server error because I did not create the widget(this is a bug and has been reported to Kaltura). Hopefully, you can remove it if you don't like it.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Rob

No problem Rob,

I did not create it either and I can't seem to edit it.

No harm done,

Cheers,

Declan

Hi Declan,

Good news. Jim Titsler of the tech team has fixed the Kaltura bug with some really fancy foot work :-) You should be able to edit the video now. I have removed my uploaded image from the time line and added a screen shot from the movie for the startpage of the video.

Cheers

Rob

Reflection on first experiment

After teaching the first graders about bones and their strength, I feel that our lesson plan was a success! There were some incidents where the students started arguing over who was going to make the

paper bones but other than that, our lesson ran smoothly and I am very proud of the results.

If there was one thing that I could change or add to our lesson,it would be that I wish that we could of read to the students a picture book from the Magic School Bus. I feel that this would

have contributed to their understanding of bones and what is important for them to stay healthy.

Making experiments and graphs is one way to apply to the eight-multiple intelligences of students, and incorporating reading and literature is another. I am very impressed

with what we have accomplished and look forward to the future lesson plans.
