When the sound produced is of a single frequency it is TONE.
NOISE is a collection of several frequencies. The sound that we hear is due to the variation in air pressure at our ear drums.The variation is caused due to the source of sound that produces this disturbance.It is a longitudinal wave that travels in all directions from the source. Sound energy is expressed by its Intensity. Several animals can detect enemies and food sources through these sound waves.
