Course guide

  1. I have assumed using the CC-BY 3.0 Australia port of the CC license - -see Copyright page Will use Australia port for generic license --Wayne Mackintosh 23:29, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
  2. In OERu context -- need to distinguish between course development team and individual teachers of institutional offerings of the course. (Teacher will differ when course is offered by another partner) Therefor removed the concept "teaching" from "Course development and teaching team" on this page. Agree members listed are the Dev team.</s> --Wayne Mackintosh 03:07, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
  3. In the resources section, I changed "Introductory" to "Coursebook" -- a more generic term which could be implemented across different OERu courses. In part because I used this term to set up the relevant pages in the wiki. --Wayne Mackintosh 04:27, 30 April 2012 (UTC) Consensus poll suggests use of "Course guide" -- Changed the name. --Wayne Mackintosh 02:34, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  4. See query about assignment submission dates in OERu model. --Wayne Mackintosh 02:34, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  5. See query about objective reference in assessment table. --Wayne Mackintosh 02:43, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  6. See note about links to study modules. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:09, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  7. Add links for Assignment 1 - -see note --Wayne Mackintosh 03:45, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  8. See note on revising text re late submissions - -not part of the OERu model. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:50, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  9. See note about adding percentage scores to grade symbols. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:55, 22 May 2012 (UTC)--Wayne Mackintosh 03:55, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  10. Assignment 2 - see note about submission dates in OERu model. --Wayne Mackintosh 04:35, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  11. Assignment 2 - See note about percentage scores and grade symbols. --Wayne Mackintosh 04:38, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  12. Note -- removed "e-portfolio" from the title of Assignment three. The entire submission (Assignments 1- 3) is a e-portfolio. --Wayne Mackintosh 05:26, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  13. Assignment 3 - see note to add relevant wiki links. --Wayne Mackintosh 07:58, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  14. See note about personal journal assignments re method of submitting and possible incorporation of public e-tivity posts. --Wayne Mackintosh 08:04, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
  15. See note about submission dates in the OERu model. --Wayne Mackintosh 08:07, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

AST1000 style / development notes

e-Tivities

  1. Removed reference numbers from inclusion in the e-tivity template to facilitate reuse --Wayne Mackintosh 22:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
  2. All e-tivites are now listed on AST1000/e-Learning_activities -- layout may change.--Wayne Mackintosh 22:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
  3. Descriptive name now used for page name (instead of e-tivity reference number) for remix purposes in other courses, and easier substitution of alternate e-tivities in the future. All AST1000 e-tivities as saved as supages of AST1000/e-Learning_activities for example: AST1000/e-Learning_activities/Defining_Asia_and_the_Pacific --Wayne Mackintosh 22:42, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
  4. E-tivities contained within the study guide materials are now transcluded on the learning materials page. Means we only need to maintain one source for multiple uses, eg pdf of e-tivities. --Wayne Mackintosh 22:50, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
  5. Suggest the inclusion of a microblog reflection with each learning outcome action. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:43, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Assignments

  1. Clarification question: Is it correct that only e-tivities which contain a statement that they are linked to Assignment three can be selected for submission in the final portolio. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:47, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

General section structure

  1. Recommend that each section of the course concludes with a summary -- perhaps with the inclusion of short course author reflection. The summary could also include a reminder to ask any content related questions on ask.oeru. --Wayne Mackintosh 03:43, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Labels for course components

  1. Personal reflection journal is a confusing concept -- the entire assessment submission for OERu is also a "portfolio". Substitute this term with Personal reflection journal or personal journal, or learning journal? I suggest learning journal --Wayne Mackintosh 23:16, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Links used for transclusion

  1. Created page to list all site links used in AST1000 for transclusion: AST1000/Links_used --Wayne Mackintosh 23:01, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Style conventions

  1. Recommend using pipes (alternate text) instead of raw url (especially in e-tivities) - better to give user a linguistic clue of the site they will be visiting. Automated pdf will generate the link and in online environment full link adds noise and is redundant. --Wayne Mackintosh 00:04, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
  2. Try and target at least one short activity per page. Could be a quiz, microblog, Ask OERu, Short reflection. Also breaks down text-heavy pages --Wayne Mackintosh 03:54, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
  3. Online layout: Check that two headings don't follow each other without text separating headings. The online conversion means that the page title generates a heading in the print version. Where necessary add a para of text, visual breaks using activities, images etc.

To do list

  • Optimise Template:E-tivity for pdf specific output
  • Work through all assignments (Course book) and E-tivities and Study Desk materials to resolve issue that OERu learners will not necessarily be submitting individual assignments on given due dates but rather submitting a portfolio when requesting assessment services. Delivery model may include options for submitting individual assignments with tutorial feedback on a fee for service basis? --Wayne Mackintosh 00:33, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Check all pages for CC-BY license - -not default wiki BY-SA --Wayne Mackintosh 00:39, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
