What is the OERu doing well?

The wiki has grown, and facilitated collaboration - versioning of course content has worked well

OERu.org - is a clean, appealing "front door"

Structure and focus of working groups has resulted in significant progress on multiple fronts

Where or how can the OERu network improve?

The wiki and website need to work better together (access control and authentication - single sign on)

Identity / user account management is not really being addressed right now. This could be a huge issue if courses become popular. We do not have an articulated data policy.

Need to surface more of the course development activity and provide a structured process for course completion.

What are the top 3 priorities this partner meeting should address?

  1. Really look at potential of APIs between - Moodle, MediaWiki, EDX (investigate), to maintain "platform independence" yet allow for tighter integration with learning environments (facilitate offering OERu courses alongside full fee paying courses and negating the need for course creators to write courses in 2 locations)
  2. Push harder on potential of offering open courses alongside institutional fee-paying versions
  3. Refresh working groups to keep momentum going, incorporate new members mindfully

Do you have issues which should be tabled at the OERu Council of CEOs meeting?

During group discussions, if any issues arise which in your opinion should be tabled at the OERu meeting of Chief Executive Officers, please add them directly to to the CEOs issues page here.
