This glossary is far from complete. We are constantly adding computing terms.

LAN (local area network)
A network of computers confined to a small area such as a school or office) and separated by relatively short distances.

LINUX
An open-source free operating system, available over the Internet and beginning to be used widely.

LOGO
A computer language which can, among other things, control the movement of a screen 'turtle' using simple commands such as FD 100 to move forward 100 pixels, and more complex commands such as REPEAT 4 [FD 100 RT 90] to draw a square.
