You'll need to calculate the average -- around 80 sounds right, but can also be high. For example we ran an OCL4Ed workshop with 1067 participants.

That's about right -- of course, depends on prior knowledge and webskills of the learner.

OK, I'm now seeing the distinction between the proposal prep (LOI, and if successful, the longer form) and the course content / design. I can see the value of the Hewlett Bid proposal info because (1) it was very good; (2) useful verbiage and concepts; and (3) successful in securing funding; and (4) would certainly save us time in preparing the longer form proposal info. I think it would be OK to relicense CC-BY-SA - but I would run this by both Rosario (waiting) and Norm (OK). - Randy Fisher 03:46, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Depends on the source license - -if SA needs to be relicensed as SA. If CC-BY, whatever license is applied for the derivative in Moodle.

Our original plan was to create the content as CC-BY in the wiki, and then apply an NC license to the derivative as it would be delivered via LMS - whichever one that would be. The OER Foundation subscribes to free cultural works licensing as a matter of policy. We can't host NC materials - its against our constitution.

However, it would not be expensive to purchase hosting services in the cloud for a Moodle install for your course. You could have a word with Jim (who works with a few techies in providing Moodle hosting) or any of the many Moodle hosting providers. You could also experiment with the Canvas (Instructure) open source system which offer a free service to host courses (with all the standard risks of using no-cost services.)

The other option is to consider using a CC-BY-SA license --- I personally believe that its more than adequate to protect your commercial interests. Anyone who takes your materials and adds value, would be obligated to re-license the derivative work under the same license which you could then incorporate for your own business. - Wayne Mackintosh
