Summary

In this project, we studied the impact of Odd-Even scheme that was implemented in two phases in Delhi.Firstly,it was implemented in January 2016 and then in April 2016.We did the analytical comparison of both the phases and later we compared with other foreign cities specially with Beijing as the data of Beijing was available with us. In comparing the data, we got the surprised result. The results are- 1.There is no significant difference between the average pollution level of Delhi and Beijing, 2.There is no significant difference between the variation of pollution level of Delhi and Beijing. The above two results forced us to calculate the average decay rate of both phases .This surprised us that the average decay rate of Delhi and Beijing were almost same. Average decay rate of Delhi=1.160446(during Phase 1) Average decay rate of Delhi=2.060299(during phase 2) While

Average decay rate of Beijing = 1.04996984(during Phase 1)
Average decay rate of Beijing= 0.1254813(during Phase 2)

This says that the average decay rate of Delhi in Phase 2 was better. Later, we concluded that the Delhi’s Pollution level is fluctuating so the Odd-Even Scheme must be implemented at least for 13 days after every 4 months.
